ECO-VILLAS

Building affordable yet sustainable homes is no small feat, however the development at Mesa Verde outside of La Paz in Baja California Sur, Mexico is determined to prove it can be done. The Villas will be constructed with green materials and techniques that take advantage of Baja's climate for heating and cooling needs.

The design of the Eco-Villas is intended to require very little monetary upkeep - the fully equipped Eco-Villas will have minimal cooling needs and absolutely zero need for heating. Sunlight will largely be used in place of light and proper shading and orientation can protect the Eco-Villas in the summer months. The green building concept in our Eco-Villas also involves inter-related issues like the social, cultural, and economic dimensions, which are as important as the technical and ecological. Although the development team at Mesa Verde strives to balance affordability and sustainability that does not mean quality will suffer, in fact our goal is to offer the highest quality of construction and while maintaining starting price points between $150,000- $200,000 USD.

The Mesa Verde Eco-Villas in Phase I will be modeling many of the features and designs of the Guadalupe house a sustainable home built by Arizona State University (ASU) Stardust Center.  Architect and project manger Ernesto Fonseca of the ASU Stardust Center has joined the Mesa Verde team to assist with integration of the green elements and high performance sytems into the design of the Mesa Verde Eco-Villas.
